So, I went to the fabric store a while back, and they had this wonderful sale on black fabrics of all textures and weights. Naturally, I had to get some. I bought those things planning on a fairy costume with lots of blacks. The bottom skirt will be this nice, light crushed black satin, and I think I have just enough: 3.5 yards. The overskirt will be a pretty black organza I bought the other day, I think I have 2 yards. The bodice will be this odd black poly I picked up...one side is kind of suedey, the other is satiny. I'll be alternating the panels with those. The little "leaves" on the shoulders of the bodice and the bottom edge will be a mix of the organza and another black sheer I own. The armbands will be in either the crushed satin, or the organza, depending on which one has more leftovers The designs will be applied with fabric paint. The best part about this costume is: I already have everything!! Except for the paint. I won't start this, though, until December....at the earliest.
